DuxSoup vs. LinkedIn Helper: What You Need To Know

Especially on LinkedIn.

One of our most popular services among our clients is our LinkedIn Lead Generation service. Our team of strategists will help you identify your ideal client and build out a campaign that appeals to that ideal client. We then go into your LinkedIn account and blast that message out in the form of a connection request to 200 people in your target market per week. Now that is great exposure!

How We Do It

Here is a secret: We do not individually send each individual message by hand! With our number of clients, it would be impossible! We get by with a little help from our browser extension.

There are a number of different extensions that can automate the process of sending connection requests. The two main extensions we recommend being DuxSoup and LinkedIn Helper.

Both have different features, and pros and cons of usage.  Let’s go through them, starting with DuxSoup.

DuxSoup

DuxSoup is essentially a Google Chrome browser extension that allows you to automate a lot of the actions that could take you hours to do on LinkedIn, depending on what level of DuxSoup you purchase (free vs. pro). DuxSoup not just only send automated connection requests that genuinely look like they are coming from you, DuxSoup can also endorse the skills of your connections and subscribe for the updates from your connections.

DuxSoup also makes it super easy to manage those profiles that are in your pipeline. DuxSoup allows you to use tags to organize your profiles. This way you can add a tag to represent a certain attribute of the profile. This helps in finding the profiles that fit that tag later. You can even designate specific actions for the duck (DuxSoup’s mascot) to complete for profiles that have that tag.

DuxSoup can act as a full-fledged leads management system if used correctly. Once you have completed sending out your custom initial connection request, DuxSoup allows you to download the profile information of those who you have connected with. This includes the connection’s name, company, title, profile URL, any tags associated with the search, and even the connection’s email address, if their LinkedIn privacy settings allow it.

Another savvy way to use DuxSoup is using the program to pull those email addresses from your first-degree connections and importing those into your CRM system, your newsletters, and even your email drip campaigns to stay in front of your connections on a different platform.

Cons and Plan Options

As with everything, there are some drawbacks to DuxSoup. DuxSoup has safe use parameters that the program forces upon the user. DuxSoup also has three different tiers of membership: Free, Professional, and Turbo. The free plan allows you to find prospects via business user as well as Sales Navigator and send custom connection requests to those prospects. It does implement a restriction of tagging a maximum of 100 profiles.

The professional plan allows you to use LinkedIn Recruiter, as well as Sales Navigator and normal business user to conduct your search. DuxSoup Professional also allows you to upload a list of profiles in order to revisit them. You can send a second message this way. Professional also comes with an auto-engage feature in order to increase engagement with your connections. There is no limit on the number of profiles you tag with this plan. The professional plan will cost you $11.25/month.

The DuxSoup turbo plan is the highest tier of the memberships. The user is able to use all the features from the standard and professional plan (finding prospects, support services, CSV download and upload) but the difference is the volume of data for each of these increases considerably with this plan! It will cost you $41.25/month.

LinkedIn Helper

Another Google Chrome plugin that you may want to consider is called LinkedIn Helper. LinkedIn Helper, much like DuxSoup, allows you to perform a search on LinkedIn and send custom connection requests to that audience. Where LinkedIn Helper really shines in is the world of LinkedIn endorsements. With LinkedIn Helper, your contacts can automatically receive endorsements from your account which is a game-changer.

The LinkedIn community is big on the rule of reciprocity. Meaning that if you have a program that is automatically giving endorsements to your connections, a good percentage of those people are going to return the favor.

LinkedIn Helper also has an autoresponder feature that can send messages to those you have just added to your network. This can continue to build your relationship with your new connections in a seemingly organic way. For example, you could send a custom connection request that says “Hi first name, I would love to add you to my network” and then send a follow-up message offering an E-book or prompting the new connection to have a call with you.

Cons and Pricing

As opposed to DuxSoup, LinkedIn Helper does not give the user the ability to search for connections from a LinkedIn group. LinkedIn Helper also does not provide free memberships, even with limited features.

LinkedIn Helper’s pricing decreases by the more months your plan lasts. One month will cost you $15. If you sign up for the 3-month plan, it will be $13.33/month for 3 months. The 6-monthly plan will cost you $10/month for 6 months. Finally, the best value is the 12-month subscription which will cost you $8.25/month.

Converting LinkedIn Connections

Now that you have an auto-bot sending your connection requests out on LinkedIn, it may seem that the hard work is done! But there are still some things you can do to improve your lead generation efforts on LinkedIn.

Are you having trouble converting connections into leads? How many times have you reached back out to the prospect? If it is less than seven, it is too few times.

There is an old adage in marketing called the ‘Rule of 7’. It says that a prospect needs to see or hear your marketing message at least seven times before they take action and do business with you. Here’s how.

#1: Post consistently

The easiest way to stay in your connection’s line of vision is to post to your LinkedIn page consistently. Try setting up a content calendar to keep yourself on track. Share industry articles with insightful captions and try to encourage your connections to engage with you!

#2: Use your CRM system to your advantage

One way we have found success in helping our clients stay in front of their prospects would be through some kind of drip email marketing campaign. Once the prospect has connected with you, you can easily find their email address on their LinkedIn profile! Plug that email address in that drip campaign and your CRM system and nurture the lead until it comes to fruition!

#3: Be persistent

If you feel like you are on the brink of closing a client, or there is a lead that really excites you, stay persistent in nailing down a phone call with them! Do not be afraid to double message the lead. Remember, someone usually needs to hear a pitch or see your content and value seven times before taking action.
